Medical Services and Programs

Walk-in care:

On occasions when there is a need for more immediate care, the team at Family Healthcare is ready to help. The Walk-in service is offered at all Family Healthcare clinics during regular hours of operation.

Patient Centered Medical Home:

Family Healthcare offers health care that is relationship-based with an orientation toward the whole person. Partnering with patients and their families for the long term requires understanding and respecting each patient’s unique needs, culture, values, and preferences. The Family Healthcare medical home practice actively supports patients in learning to manage and organize their own care at the level the patient chooses. Recognizing that patients and families are core members of the care team, the provider will ensure that they are fully informed partners in establishing care plans.

Health screening:

A provider may use a screening test in the examination process to catch a disorder or disease in its earliest stage, preferably before the onset of symptoms

Immunization:

Family Healthcare provides immunization access to all patients. Qualified patients can receive significantly subsidized and discounted immunizations.

Management of Acute & Chronic Conditions:

For patients with chronic disease-related conditions, disabilities, or age-related diminished function – Family Healthcare offers ongoing coordinated healthcare planning, interventions and communications, with a goal of improving the overall health of the patient.

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT):

The use of FDA approved medications, in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies for the treatment of substance use disorders. The prescription medication helps to normalize brain chemistry, block the euphoric effect of substances, relieve physiological cravings, and normalize body functions. The goal of MAT is full recovery, including the ability to live a self-directed life. This treatment approach has been shown to:

  • Improve patient survival
  • Increase patient retention in treatment
  • Increase patient ability to gain and maintain employment
  • Improve birth outcomes among women who have substance use disorders and are pregnant
  • Decrease illicit substance use and other criminal activities among people with substance use disorders

Prescriptions:

Receive your prescriptions at 40% to 60% off the usual price when they are ordered by your Family Healthcare provider and filled at any of the following pharmacies:

  • Smith’s Food and Drug
  • Hurricane Family Pharmacy
